I have been a resident of Farmington for 51 years. I am a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I am retired from Strafford County Human Services after serving as a Mediation Coordinator for Parent/Child mediation. Currently, I am involved in several public service organizations. I serve as Vice Chairman of the Farmington Budget Committee and Vice President of the Farmington Historical Society. I remain active in the Farmington Woman’s Club and am a Past President of the organization. I always offer and make myself available to help out any civic group in our town that needs help.
Recently, I began volunteer work at Farmington Responds, a peer support center for people with substance use disorder who want to find their pathway to recovery. Like many other families in the state,I have personally been affected by the opioid epidemic we face. I believe we need to work to bring more money into our struggling New Hampshire communities. Naturally, I would support distributing some of that money to the Town of Farmington to help end this crisis.
My hobbies consist of quilting and embroidery and riding motorcycle with my husband Ronald. We have traveled cross country two times and will continue to do so for as long as our bodies will allow us.
I am running for State Representative because I want to help make this wonderful State of New Hampshire a more prosperous state to live in. I would like specifically to bring more resources into Farmington in order to create more opportunities for the families that live here. Our little community of Farmington is growing and I would like to help put it at the top of the list for quality education, successful business environment, and healthy recreational activities that support conservation and sustainability.
There is so much I would like to accomplish for Farmington. The first step will be learning how to do it, and with support from the voters of Farmington, I know I can make that happen. While I have little desire to play political games, I have real experience in local government. I know what our town needs, and I will bring that knowledge to Concord and put it to good use. I intend to Watch, Listen and Learn.
