President Obama Explains The Problem With ‘All Lives Matter’

“I think the reason that the organizers used the phrase “black lives matter” was not because they were suggesting nobody else’s lives matter. What they were suggesting was, there is a specific problem that is happening in the African-American community that’s not happening in other communities. And that is a legitimate issue that we’ve got to address.” President Barack Obama

Breast Cancer Awareness Month-New Guidelines

http://bit.ly/1WbjSug

“These guidelines are based on not wanting to hurt anyone with more screening. We need more benefits than risk. Oftentimes, you would have to screen many women to find one breast cancer. The problem is when you do that, you find more false positives which leads to more follow-up screenings and no improvement in chances of survival.” Dr. Marlene Meyers, assistant professor of medicine and director of the survivorship program at New York University Perlmutter Cancer Center

Radley Balko-Once Again: There Is No ‘War On Cops.’

"But there’s also a much more pernicious effect of exaggerating the threats faced by law enforcement. When cops are constantly told that they’re under constant fire, or that every interaction with a citizen could be their last, or that they’re fortunate each time they come home from the job in one piece, it’s absolute poison for police-community relations. That kind of reminder on a regular basis would put anyone on edge. We’re putting police officers in a perpetually combative mindset that psychologically isolates them from the communities they serve. Incessantly telling cops that they’re under fire can condition them to see the people with whom they interact not as citizens with rights, but as potential threats. That not only means more animosity, anger and confrontation, it can also be a barrier to building relationships with people in the community — the sorts of relationships that help police officers solve crimes and keep communities safe."

Colin Van Ostern Jumping Into NH Governor’s Race

“I’m running for governor to build an even stronger economy and a brighter future for the people of New Hampshire — one where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We must keep our state moving forward in 2016 so New Hampshire will continue to be a great place to raise a family and grow a business in the coming decade — one where our kids can attend great schools, graduate from college without being crushed by debt, and find jobs with good wages.” Colin Van Ostern

In Wake Of FEC Violation, Guinta Is Back At Fundraising

Union Leader Editorial Image

“This is not a partisan issue — it’s a matter of integrity, honesty and trust. I agree with Republican United States Senator Ayotte, the Republican leaders of the NH House and NH Senate, and others that Guinta must resign now.” Carol She Porter

NH Union Leader: "To cover up the source of his illegal campaign money, Guinta lied to everyone. First, he lied to the people of New Hampshire. He told this newspaper in a 2010 interview that the money came from multiple personal bank accounts held by him. He let this lie stand while he told the FEC an entirely different lie, that the money came from deposits he made into a family bank account to which he had a legal right of access. While the FEC investigation was ongoing, he told voters that it had ended and he had been cleared."
