I'm warning you the facts are not nice; they are in fact gruesome. These aren't brand new data sets, or something we just found out, though our understanding of rapists and the abuse, violence, and long term damage they inflict is much better understood, each year that passes. Any idea that we are a civilized species evaporates after reading this information. We have many caring, empathetic individuals among us, but no society that allows this dis-empowering violence to continue has the right to call itself civilized.
