Dorinda Howard For #NH State Representative #FarmingtonNH

Many of you know me from attending school with me in Farmington. Some know me as the town librarian for 12 years and on the budget committee for 3 years. I loved all my years at Farmington schools, my teachers, librarians, just school in general. My years at the library were such a learning experience - learning to care for the books, the library in general and the museum. I loved it all. Farmington has such an asset in its library. Public and school libraries aid the quality of education and information for every citizen of the state. The cost and direction of education is important to me, even though I have never had children in the school system I want our schools to be great. I want our Farmington children to receive an excellent education.

After my years at the Goodwin Library, I moved to Rochester Library and worked there 18 years. During my years at Rochester, I am proud to say that the library staff unionized and became Teamster Librarians 633 by unanimous vote. I retired a couple of years ago, had a double knee replacement, went to visit relatives in Ireland and when this opportunity arose, I wanted to help my town.

Just a few reasons why I'm running:

New Hampshire was given a C by the American Society of Civil Engineers for the condition of our roads and bridges. I want to reinstate state support to projects that are integral to safety of drivers on the road.

New Hampshire property taxes are unfair and residents need relief. I want to work to create and implement real change, giving property owners much needed relief.

In 2021, U.S. News reported that New Hampshire ranks dead last in the nation for education funding. I will fight to bring our education system into the 21st century.

I will fight to protect a woman's right to choose what happens to her body, including family planning procedures such as tubal litigations and pregnancy.
