Remembering Martin "Marty" Laferte Of Farmington, New Hampshire

Martin "Marty" Laferte - December 24, 1944 - June 11, 2020

Martin “Marty” Laferte died at his home in Farmington, NH on June 11, 2020 at the age of 75 after a long illness.

Martin was born in Rochester, NH, the son of the late Hector and Sylvia (Hamel) Laferte.

Martin had served in the United States Army. He then attended a water treatment school in Missouri and thereafter worked for the water departments in several Missouri cities. Subsequently he became a resident senior engineer with Tyco Industries, and over many years worked on projects throughout New England.

After he retired and moved to Farmington, he was actively involved at the town and county level with the Democratic Party. Until his health declined, he served as Vice Chair of the Farmington Planning Board and as town representative on the Strafford Regional Planning Commission.

Martin is survived by Billie, his wife of 21 years, and his sister, Jacqueline Lambert of Barrington, NH, as well as seven nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Laferte and Norman Laferte.

At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Instead of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a cancer organization of your choice.
