2020 Virtual NHDP State Convention Saturday, May 9th

From NHDP:

General information:
To prioritize the health and safety of Granite Staters, the NHDP Executive Committee voted unanimously to adapt the State Committee meeting on April 25 and our May 9 State Convention to virtual meetings. If you are a State Committee member or a Convention Delegate, you should have received an email with details about our virtual events! Please reach out to convention@nhdp.org if you did not receive the email.

While much of the process and deadlines remain largely the same as in past years, we have outlined some of the changes below.

When is the 2020 NHDP Convention?

The convention was planned for Saturday, May 9th and the virtual convention will still begin that day. As you know, our conventions have many speakers and opportunities for trainings for candidates and activists - as well as voting on party issues. This will all begin virtually on May 9th.

What are we voting on at the convention?

There are multiple items voted on in even-numbered years conventions. Delegates will vote on the Rules for the Convention, the NHDP State Platform, NHDP Resolutions, and our electors to the Electoral College. On April 27th, the official call to the convention will be emailed to delegates and posted to this page with the platform, resolutions, and names of the electors. Check back for those updates!

How do I vote?

Delegates to the state convention will have two options for voting. You can either have a secure online ballot or a paper ballot mailed to you. Please email convention@nhdp.org with your preference of either an online ballot or a paper ballot with your name, address, phone number, and the position you hold as a delegate (i.e. State Representative, Town Chair, State Committee Member, etc.) by May 9th, 2020.

When can I vote?

Delegates can submit their vote starting Saturday, May 9th at 9:00am for both paper ballots and online ballots. Voting will be open from May 9th at 9:00am to May 23rd at 5:00pm to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate. The ballot will include all the information you’ll need on the submission process.

How will we be able to watch the speakers?

Convention programming will be available to the public on our website. We’ll send a reminder on May 9th to share this content broadly, as we want people across the state to be able to see our candidates, hear our message, and “attend” our virtual convention.

What should I know about the NHDP State Platform?

The NHDP Platform Committee began to hold public hearings across the state in mid-February and held a series of hearings via phone conference as well for input on the 2020 NHDP State Platform. The platform went through an amendment phase for input until April 10th. The Platform Committee has now published the final proposed platform, and it will be voted on during our Virtual Convention on May 9th.
