NH Redistricting - Sign the Petition for a 30-Day Public Comment Period
Petition:
Redistricting
will determine our districts as well as our elected officials and policies for
years to come. Partisan political interests should have no place in shaping or
planning for these lines. Yet, members of House Leadership have referenced
redistricting in threat to other legislators, restricted use of the
taxpayer-funded redistricting software to select Republicans only at the
exclusion of Democrats and the general public, and shown a complete lack of
transparency around the timeline and process for New Hampshire’s redistricting.
We call on
Speaker Bill O’Brien (R-Mont Vernon), Redistricting Chair Paul Mirski
(R-Grafton), Vice Chair David Bates (R-Windham) and the members of the Redistricting
Committee to provide for a 30-day public comment period on any redistricting plans before
they are voted on, and to allow public comments to be delivered in person or in
writing, via hand delivery or electronic submission.
