Farmington NH Hay Day 2011




Right now the town is preparing for Hay Day on Saturday, Aug. 27. You can buy t-shirts at the bank and they will be available on Hay Day as well. Here are a few of the upcoming Hay Day events:

At 2:30 p.m. is the Bed Race — always a favorite! Come watch and support your favorite team as they run down Main Street and complete some challenging tasks. The grand prize is $125! There is a Community bed available. Register at the Recreation Department.

Music and a Movie: Saturday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Chris Bonoli and the Blues Monsters band will be playing at Fernald Park before the movie which will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and is Shrek, The Final Chapter, a movie the whole family will enjoy. It will be shown at the Recreation Department if it rains.

Thrift Shop Hay Day Specials: Blessed Bargains will be open on Hay Day with half-prices. Stop by and pick up some one-of-a-kind items and gently used fashions.

Museum Open on Hay Day: The Farmington Historical Museum will be open on Hay Day, Aug. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about Farmington's past. The museum is located in the library and you can enter through the side door.

Poets' open mike: The Adult Writers and Poets Group (based at the Goodwin Library) will be holding an open mike poetry event at the Farmington Recreation Hall during the Hay Day activities on Saturday, Aug. 27 from noon to 1:30 p.m. Bring a poem and join the fun, or just come and listen. Big book sale: Please note that the Goodwin Library will be closed on Hay Day, Saturday, Aug. 27, but do not despair! Our Friends group will be sponsoring their fourth Annual Giant Book Sale! Get there early for the biggest selection.
