Come enjoy a Mexican dinner and spicy politics at the Strafford Town Democratic Committee’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration at the Bow Lake Grange Hall in Strafford, N.H., at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 5. Special guests for the evening include former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, now running to reclaim the seat she previously held for four years. Come check out the Democratic candidates for governor, Jackie Cilley of Barrington and Maggie Hassan of Exeter, who will also speak at the event.
You’ll have a chance to meet these and other candidates for state and county office, while enjoying a festive evening with a south of the border flair. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at http://www.strafforddems.org or by calling Carol Perry at 269-4651 or Dennis Vachon at 664-9974.
The
event begins with a social hour at 5 p.m., with traditional Mexican
spirits and beer for sale, followed by a buffet-style Mexican feast.
Look for a tantalizing menu featuring beef, chicken and vegetarian
enchiladas, Mexican lasagna, cheese-stuffed peppers, salad, and
traditional rice and beans on the side. Save room for dessert, with a
choice of Mexican chocolate or Margarita cake. Be sure to enter the
raffle for a chance to win one or more beautiful themed gift baskets.
